Unfortunately if your school is unable to configure the connection to better support the game or are preventing it outright there may not be a configuration or settings change we could recommend that would improve the games ability to connect.
As I saw it, by hardcoding the port, I was hoping that I was forcing the game to use a specific port for which I new I had a firewall rule set for.
If this occurs, we recommend you disable DX10, enable DX9, and restart the game client.
